DMRC was requested to submit feasibility report of extension of Metro to Kundli district Sonepat as it will provide direct connectivity with Delhi to the thickly populated areas of Kundli. The Terms of Reference of the study were approved by GoH and were conveyed to DMRC on 05.05.2015. The route alignment finalized is from Narela to Kundli. The total route length is 4.78 Km. The cost of preparation of DPR is Rs 47.80 lacs plus service tax, out of which Rs 16,11,242 /- (including Service Tax) i.e. 30% of total cost has been released on 04.02.2016. The study was to be completed within 3 months from the date of release of Mobilization fee.

MoHUA has been requested to grant Central finance assistance of 50% of the cost of DPR on 03.02.2016.MoHUA has given in-Principle approval for preparation of DPR.

DPR of the project has been prepared by DMRC which has been approved by the Board in its 22nd Board Meeting held on 28.03.2017.DPR was forwarded to MoHUA for approval and for sanction for Central Financial Assistance. MoHUA has returned the DPR with the directions to review it in the light of Metro Policy 2017, matter is being further examined. DMRC is preparing revise DPR.
