Gurugram-Bawal MRTS Project under DMICDC:-
Manesar Bawal Investment Region (MBIR) is planned as an industrial township in the influence area of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor. The employment and industrial infrastructure will induce a heavy movement of people within MBIR and its surroundings such as Gurugram, Manesar and Dharuhera. Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) has envisaged integrated Mass Rapid Transit System between Gurugram and MBIR and has appointed AECOM for the preparation of Detailed Project Report. The area of 402 Sq. km. has been identified in Phase-I of MBIR spread over 134 settlements in Bawal, Khol and Rewari blocks. MBIR is being planned for the projected population of 31.90 lacs, which will generate employment of 16 lacs approximately. HSIIDC had notified 465 acre of land under section 4 & 6. Award is to be announced by December, 2016. Alignment of MRTS project through Global City has been approved by GoH on 15.12.2015.
DMICDC has submitted the Revised Final Detailed Project Report (DPR) on 21.01.2016 for MRTS project to provide connectivity between Gurugram and Bawal. The details of the project are given as under:

In addition to above, two spurs have been planned in Phase-IA and Phase-IB i.e. Phase-IA is spur of 14 kms on NPR between Global City and Sector-112 and Phase–IB is the spur connecting MBIR with Rewari with a length of 12 kms. Thus the total route length of network including Phase-I, Phase-IA and Phase-IB is proposed to be 108 kms. The project is being administered by HSIIDC.
